Woman Before Gravestone

April Ford talks about the sudden loss of her husband who also worked in the same department at Intel as she did. April discusses how having an advocate at her company helped her navigate through corporate policy during her grieving.

“My group was very supportive but overall, fighting through the corporate red tape and protocols and procedures was really a hassle. I’m glad to say that I had somebody to be an advocate for me.”

Listen to April talk about leaving her corporate career feeling very fortunate and blessed to have had the opportunity to work with a major corporation. She believes she learned a lot, met a lot of great people and remains connected with many of her former peers at Intel.

She started my own career to basically reach back and pay it forward to other individuals who are coping with loss, feeling alone whether that loss is due to a death or maybe feeling alone due to abuse. She believes that  being a survivor of childhood sexual abuse herself she understands that it often tends to isolate you and you suffer in silence. From her own life circumstance she started a new career in writing, speaking and teaching. She has written a best-selling book, speaks on TV and has her own radio show entitled “You’re not Alone”

She now teaches other women how they can bounce back and turn their tragedies into triumph.
